"There's nothing to gain when you abstain". After a month of drinking at least one beer and eating at least one pie a day, we’ve come to an end.

Over the month of July, we asked you to pledge your support and join in on 'Beer & Pie July' and we want to thank all those that made a commitment and pledged their support to this great cause.

Some interesting stats to wrap up Beer & Pie July -

  • Of the 21 different pies and beers Hauraki featured;
  • Average % of the beers was 9%
  • The most common ingredient in the pies was mince followed by cheese
  • 42% of participants saw an increase in their libido
  • 98% of participants have indicated they will take part again next year
  • The pie industry is literally booming
  • The brewery industry has reached a record high
  • Over 100,000 uses of the hashtag #beerandpiejuly
  • #beerandpiejuly was trending on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Grinder

The commitment from you bloody great Kiwi's has blown us away here at Radio Hauraki. #beerandpiejuly was one of the highest trending hashtags for the month of July and it's allowed us to keep up with the beer & pie combos!

As you can see in the video above of Grot Lane and Scotty J Stevenson, we needed a fridge to keep all of the beers cold.

The fridge is worth $10,000 and we're giving it away. Register HERE to win it!

Finally, The Heath Wells Foundation initiative has been a roaring success and we’ve decided to lock in Beer & Pie July once again in 2018.

See you next year!
