A clean sweep of the breaststroke titles for veteran Glenn Snyders at the national swimming championships in Auckland.

Snyders has booked a spot at his third Olympic games, twice breaking the qualifying standard in heats and the final in the 100 breaststroke.

Snyders said his motivation to succeed has never changed in his long career.

He said it shows his determination and perseverance over the past 15 years having always been a part of the national team since first making it in 2005.

Freestyle swimmer Matt Stanley has qualified for the 400 freestyle in Rio after also qualifying for the 200 metres earlier in the meet.

The night was highlighted by Paralympian Sophie Pascoe breaking her own world record in the 100 metres S10 butterfly.
