ACC appointed official commentary team of T20 Christchurch Black Clash

The Alternative Commentary Collective (ACC) is poised for a triumphant return to Christchurch’s Hagley Oval as the official commentary team for the Hot Spring Spas T20 Christchurch Black Clash – the blockbuster summer showdown set to bring together the nation’s biggest sporting superstars for a thrilling T20 cricket match on January 25.

“To say the ACC team is excited is an understatement,” ACC Head Commentator Jeremy Wells said.

“Not since being removed from the Cricket World Cup in 2015 have I seen the guys more enthused about covering a sporting event. Being the official commentary team for the T20 Christchurch Black Clash will perfectly combine our expert knowledge and experience in calling both Black Caps and All Blacks matches over the past few years.”

Featuring some of sport’s most… interesting minds – such as Wells, Leigh Hart, Matt Heath and Mike Lane - the ACC has proudly established itself as the go-to number two commentary team for Kiwi cricket and rugby fans.

Duco Events director David Higgins described the ACC as a natural partner for what promises to be the most fun event of the Kiwi sporting summer.

“We’ve got the biggest sporting stars in the country turning out for this event so naturally, the ACC needed to be there also,” Higgins said. “I’m a huge fan. The ACC lads are always up for a good time and a laugh but they also know their stuff as well as anybody.

“I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t a little nervous about where they may take things but, then again, these guys are absolute pros and I know they’ll do an amazing job.”

ACC manager Mike Lane said his team was truly thrilled to be returning to Christchurch’s beautiful Hagley Oval following a controversial exit during the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

“More than anything we are excited about being permitted back into the ground to call what will be an epic and totally unique event,” he said.

Over a dozen iconic Kiwi sporting stars headlined by All Blacks captain Kieran Read, noted left-arm seamer Richie McCaw, legendary Black Caps captain Stephen Fleming and T20 master blaster Brendon McCullum have already committed to playing in the match.
