Spike Lee responds to Gisborne Herald's epic f*ck up

A mistake by the Gisborne Herald has accidentally made its front page go viral, with the paper writing Spike Lee when they meant to pay tribute to Marvel superhero creator Stan Lee.

The front page of the regional paper was shared on social media by people all over the world, who pointed out that Spike Lee was very much still alive.

Time and The Huffington Post were among the international publications that wrote about the front page mistake.

Now, the Do The Right Thing director has addressed the blunder on his Instagram account.

Stan Lee passed away November 12, aged 95, after battling complications from pneumonia.
