The Raiders officially moved to Las Vegas this season, and on Monday (September 21) celebrated the opening of their coveted new home, Allegiant Stadium with the team's season opener. Though its 65,000 seats were empty, the new stadium was christened on Monday Night Football, and The Killers performed during halftime. Sort of.

The band pre-recorded a performance on the rooftop of Nobu Villa at Caesars Palace, which aired during the game. “It’s our pleasure to welcome the Raiders to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” singer Brandon Flowers said before jumping into "Mr. Brightside." “I think we have just the song for the occasion.”

Though The Killers released Imploding the Mirage just a few weeks ago, Flowers recently divulged that the band is already working on its follow up, and it's coming out next year.

“Every time someone makes a record they say that they have 50 songs and they’re going to release another record. We really are,” he told NME during a recent interview.

“We’re going to release another one in about 10 months. We’ve already gone back into the studio ... We did a week in Northern California,” he added.
