It looks like vinyl records will be making a major comeback after this holiday season.

According to a recent report from Billboard, vinyl record sales saw a huge bump after Black Friday. An estimated 1.253 million records were sold in the week ending on Dec. 3, which was helped by Record Store Day‘s annual Black Friday event. The event offers buyers a chance to purchase rare vinyl pressings available in limited quantities.

The uptick in vinyl sales continued after Black Friday, as well, possibly indicating that vinyl records were a popular holiday gift this year. Billboard reports vinyl sales surged again right before Christmas, which saw sales increase 9 percent from the previous week. An estimated 1.445 million vinyls sold in the week ending on Dec. 17. This was the biggest week for vinyl sales since Nielsen Music/MRC Data began electronically tracking music sales in 1991.

Though the data is unavailable at this time, Billboard's report predicts that vinyl sales continued to soar in the week ending on Dec. 24. With last-minute shoppers getting their holiday gifts, it's likely even more vinyl records were purchased in December than are currently known.
