After their triumphant return in December, My Chemical Romance planned to tour North America for the first time in nine years this fall. Now, like so many other bands, the recently reunited group was forced to postpone tour dates due the coronavirus pandemic. Though it's a bummer for fans as well as the band members, Mikey Way is assuring fans the show will go on (at some point).

“I know fans have been waiting a long time, but it’ll all still be here when this is all over,” the guitarist told BBC’s Radio 1 Newsbeat. “Live music isn’t going anywhere, it’s just on pause for everybody.”

After admitting his personal disappoint when he first heard MCR would have to change its 2020 plans, Way has been “trying to take myself out of a selfish place,” and now he's feeling more optimistic about the future.

“I feel like people are waiting with bated breath,” he said. “It’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I think there’s something really cool about that.”

In the meantime, fans can show their MCR love with face coverings the band originally made for a dessert show that never happened. The masks are available for pre-order through MCR's online store, with proceeds going to MusiCares' COVID-19 Relief Fund— a charity that helps music industry workers who have been affected by the pandemic stay afloat.
