New Zealand’s sonic adventurers The Phoenix Foundation return with their first new music in five years. "Tranquility" sees The Phoenix Foundation collaborate with Hollie Fullbrook of Tiny Ruins, sharing vocal duties with co-lead singer Luke Buda.

"Tranquility" is a dreamy sun setter, replete with clarinet, Moog and Arp Odyssey. The song came into being when Luke worked on one of fellow band member Conrad Wedde’s many instrumental pieces.

Says Luke: "Conrad has about 1000 tracks just sitting around waiting. I always intend to sing on all of them, but words are a struggle for me. Anyway, this one really hooked me in. I wrote and recorded these vocals at my German puppeteer neighbour Norbet’s house while he was away. I had nowhere to work on music for a bit there. Thanks Norbet!”
