Auckland City Limits Map, Timetable Revealed

For those of you getting ready to rock, jive, skank, or twerk at Auckland City Limits on Saturday March 19, we've some more handy information for you - the timetable is out today, and it's lookin' pretty fine.

The Timetable 

Here's a few things we're happy to see across the 40 acts scheduled to appear through the 12-hour event.

Kendrick Lamar will be closing the festival with a 90-minute set finishing at 11pm on the main stage, while Modest Mouse will play from 10pm on the other main stage - f you're fans of both, you do have a chance to whip across the grassy fields halfway through.

There will also be full 75 minute sets from Fat Freddy's Drop and The National(7pm and 8.15pm respectively on the main stage), while Shapeshifter and Girl Talkwill undoubtedly be getting a sweaty party started across the field.

It's nice to see plenty of Kiwi artists getting prominent slots, with The Phoenix Foundationand The Naked & Famous both getting evening slots on big stages, and Ladyhawke andBroods in the late afternoon.

You should definitely get along early though, because Tami Neilson is performing at 12.30pm, (before she heads off to perform at Womad on the same day), and you don't wanna miss her powerhouse soul and rollicking band. Neither would you want to miss Che Fu and The Kratez performing his classic album The Navigator at 2pm.

There's plenty of intriguing international acts to check out throughout the day -Shakey Graves, Houndmouth, and Grace Potter will all bring a different dose of southern american hospitality to the late afternoon (4.15pm, 5pm, and 5.45pm), while there will be some New York flavoured rock from Highly Suspect and Australian indie-rock from highly praised newcomers Gang of Youths earlier in the day.

One stage we are particularly excited about is the Golden Dawn pop-up stage, which will be located in next to the lake in the lovely surrounds of Western Springs Park (remember how delightful that stage was at the last Big Day Out?) They've got all sorts of top-notch local acts who'll shine in the more intimate surrounds -Delaney Davidson, Carnivorous Plant Society, Hopetoun Brown, Storehouse, andShab Orchestra included.

The layout of the festival will be similar to the last Big Day Out, with two stages side by side in the main arena, and two stages side by side over on the far, road side of the fields, which means continuous entertainment wherever you're standing, and plenty of grass under your feet.
